Michael Bohnenstingl is a director and writer, focusing on character-based stories in animation. He worked on kids-series with studio soi and makes somewhat funny and hopefully touching short films. Occasionally he hosts the alternative film event "Night of Shame" in which filmmakers show their most terrible films.

Having hung around a lot with musicians at our rehearsal space in Ludwigsburg, I noticed a strange paradox: Many of us - especially the good ones - felt that our music was somehow dependent on us feeling terrible. Therefore, becoming a better, happier, more stable person seemed like a dangerous idea: Would growing up means losing our creativity? "Slouch" is my attempt at dramatizing this question and offering a perspective on what creativity and our passions mean as we progress in life.
